Emily Tankersley (Dancer/Choreographer) is a graduate of Towson University where she earned her BFA in Dance Performance. Upon graduating from Towson, Emily went on to study Dance/Movement Therapy at Hahnemann University earning a Master’s of Arts degree. Emily worked for several years along side of mental health professionals using Dance Therapy as a healing art. Currently, Emily is a dance educator at the Bryn Mawr School for Girls in Baltimore where she teaches and directs the Upper School Dance Company. As an eight year member of The Collective, Emily has had the privilege to have her choreography presented at the BMA, John’s Hopkins, Theatre Project, Towson University, EMC and Artscape. Her piece “On the (ready, set) Go,” received the Eddie Stewart Prize for Choreography in 2004.
