The Movement: Improvised Comedy and Dance
Featuring The Baltimore Improv Group and The Collective
The Baltimore Improv Group and The Collective pair up to present an evening of seamlessly woven un-scripted comedy and dance. The actors of BIG and the dancers of The Collective join forces on stage to create improv scenes based on audience suggestion. Dancers bend and form their bodies to become the beautiful set and props for wonderfully inventive unscripted scenes. Improvisers blend in with dancing, creating unbelievable collaborative art using repertoire from The Collective. As Baltimore’s hub for professional dance, The Collective houses twelve dancers and choreographers who work collaboratively to promote dance as an art form and create new work. BIG, a Baltimore-based non profit organization, is dedicated to advancing the art of improvised theatre through performance, classes, and outreach. This show, The Movement, has been performed for 6 years to sold-out audiences in Baltimore at the Baltimore Museum of Art, Theatre Project, and the Creative Alliance. In 2011, The Movement was featured at the Chicago Improv Festival. |

The Movement presented by Free Fall Baltimore
An evening of unscripted theater, high-energy dance & upbeat comedy, guaranteed to entertain audiences of all ages. The Baltimore Improv Group and The Collective create their own sets, props & environments with their bodies – and character, plots & dialog with their minds. The dancers and the improvisers respond and perform to the music provided by the audience through their mp3 players.
In their fifth year collaborating together, The Collective and BIG have created a seemless integration of dance and improv using excerpts of repertoire from The Collective's SHORTS along side impromptu responses from the actors. This show is always a fun, full evening of laughs.
