Last year's successful open audition on June 7, 2009 brought four new members to The Collective for the 2009-2010 performance season. The Collective would like to welcome Adrienne Latanishen, Camille Lattimore, Lynne Price, and Melissa Talleda to the company.
Community Project
The Community Project 2010: Still Life in Motion
** Rehearsal on February 7th has been cancelled due to weather. We will see you on February 21st for the next scheduled rehearsal. **
The Collective will host its annual Community Project where members of the community are invited and encouraged to participate in the making of a new dance work. This year's project will be choreographed by Collective member, Martha Reyner.. Participants will learn and develop movement phrases and choreography through a guided process. Let's make a dance one movement at a time just as art is made one brush stroke at a time.
The Community Project is open to all experience levels and movers of all styles. Partcipants must be at least 16 years old to participate. The project is FREE for all participants.
Rehearsals for The Community Project 2010 will be held on Sundays from 3:00pm-5:00pm at Expressions in Motion in Pigtown. Rehearsals will be held on the following days: February 21st, February 28th, March 7th and March 14th. Dress Rehearsal will be held on Friday, March 20th.
The final performance for The Community Project 2010 will take place on Saturday, March 20th at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Performances will be at 2pm and 8pm.

History of The Community Project: On March 14, 2009, Jessica Fultz's choreography was showcased in the 3rd annual Community Project with innovative costuming and movement based on recycled themes and the desire to "Go Green!" The 3rd annual Community Project welcomed over 20 dancers to the stage, and these dancers have stayed in contact even after the performance event. On April 5, 2008, The Collective premiered the second annual Community Project at the Baltimore Museum of Art choreographed by Sonia Synkowski. The theme for 2008: "Moving and Transitioning Through an Urban Environment." More than 20 participants performed in this project. The Collective is proud to continue the success begun in March 2007 when over 20 dancers of all levels from the Baltimore area joined together to perform a piece choreographed by Jennifer Ousse-Seye with the theme of "Waterfalls".
